2012 Yabby Lake Red Claw Pinot Noir — Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
Yabby Lake Winemaker Tom Carson has achieved some remarkable feats with his 2012 wines. The 2012 block one pinot noir is the first pinot noir to win the Jimmy Watson wine award in it's 52 year history. The award is a tribute to the crunchy deliciousness of the fruit in the 2012 Mornington Peninsula vintage. An every-day alternative to the more highly priced award winner, Yabby Lake's Red Claw pinot noir has a brilliant ruby colour with a vibrant purple rim. Crushed raspberries and violets lead the aroma of the wine. The palate is broad, juicy and ready now with a combination of blueberry and crunchy cherry fruit. Drink now, often, by itself or with roasted poultry.
